Instructions
- 1Sign in to your Drupal site and click "Structure." Click "Content Types," then click "Add Content Type."
- 2Name the content type and create a description. Consider naming it "Resource Database" or something similar, to identify it.
- 3Click "Manage Fields" next to the newly created content type.
- 4Move down to the "Add a New Field" section and name the field "File" or something similar. Select "File" in the Field column, then select the "File" widget. Click "Save." Click "Save Field Settings."
- 5Go to the "Allowed File Extensions" field. Input each file extension you want to allow. Because there is no setting to allow all file types, you'll need to enter each extension you may use manually. Separate them with spaces, not commas:pdf txt doc rtf jpg bmp png
- 6Select the maximum file upload size in megabytes. For example, if you wanted to set the maximum upload size to 16 MB, use the following format:16 MB
- 7Move to "Field Settings." Select "Unlimited" as the number of allowing files. This allows you to create a virtually unlimited file database. Click "Save Settings."
- 8Click "Add Content," and select the content type you just created. Name your resource database and enter a description. Click "Browse" in the File Attachment section to attach your files. Click "Save." Repeat as necessary each time you want to add a file to the resource database.
