,
A CR2, or Canon Raw Image, file is an uncompressed image format -- meaning it stores all of a file's information exactly how it was interpreted by your camera's sensor. Converting CR2s to PSDs requires Adobe Photoshop, since PSD files, or Photoshop Documents, are Adobe Photoshop's standard project files. Once your Raw files are opened in Photoshop, you can easily convert them to PSD files to adjust any number of elements, including your image's white balance, exposure, brightness and more.

Plug one end of your connector cable into your Canon's port and the other into the USB or FireWire port on your computer.
