How to Convert a MVI File for the Mac

A file with the MVI file extension is a video animation created with the AutoCAD AutoFlix feature. AutoCAD with the AutoFlix feature is only available for Windows operating systems. If you create an MVI AutoFlix video and you want to play the video on a Mac, you need use the AutoCAD program, with the AutoFlix plug-in, to export the video to a Mac-compatible file format, such as the QuickTime MOV format.


Instructions

      Open the MVI file in the AutoCAD application.

      Click the “File” option on the top navigation bar in AutoCAD.

      Click the “Save As” option in the File menu. The Save dialog box opens.

      Click the “Save as Type” drop-down box, and then click the “QuickTime Video (*.mov)" option.

      Type a name for the video into the “File Name” input box.
    • 6
      Click the “Save” button. The MVI file is converted to the Mac-friendly MOV format.
