When you're working on graphic designs in Adobe Illustrator, the designs
you create exist on the artboard — or workboard — in the view. Elements
added to this space may hang beyond the edge of it, but anything
extending beyond the edge doesn't appear when you save or print the
document. However, to ensure a clean appearance for your document so
that you may better evaluate it as you work on it, cut off those parts
of the design that extend beyond the workboard.
