How to Detect Spector Pro on Your Computer

,
Spector Pro is an application that has the ability to record nearly every action that you perform while logged into your computer. This application does not list itself as a program in the Start menu, nor does it show up in the Control Panel. However, you can search for certain processes or dynamic link libraries to determine whether your computer has a Spector Pro installation.

Instructions

  1. Spector Pro Processes

    • 1
Right-click a vacant area on the taskbar.
    • 2
      Click “Start Task Manager.”
    • 3
Click the tab labeled “Processes.” Spector Pro is present on your computer if you can find processes such as “winnetcl.exe,” “webebot.exe,” “sp40setup.exe,” “spadmin.exe,” spector_eval.exe,” “wswinntfp.exe” or “spsetup.exe” listed under the “Image Name” section.

    Spector Pro Dynamic Link Libraries

    • 1
Click “Start” and then click “Computer.”
    • 2
Double-click the “Local Disk C” icon. Next, double-click the “Windows” folder and then double-click the “System32” folder.
    • 3
Look for files such as “abfrnex.dll,” “msurlbot.dll,” “netknl.dll” or “netknlhm.dll.” Spector Pro is present on your computer if you can find any one of these files. You can use the search bar on the Start menu or the Windows Explorer window to instantly locate these files.
