After you take digital pictures
of a family event, vacation or casual encounter, you can save them to
your computer as JPEG files. Subsequent to uploading the photos to your
computer, you may want to either email them to friends or post them to a
social networking site. However, both email and social networking sites
may have file size restrictions, and your pictures may be too big to
send or post. Photo-editing software lets you make your JPEG images
smaller to make them easier to send or post.
