You can make graphic banners to use on advertisement networks, as a
graphic on your website or as the signature image on your email or forum
account. To create a banner using a layered technique, you need a
graphic program that supports the use of layers, such as GIMP, Photoshop
or Painter. Using layers, you can place multiple images on top of each
other, each in a separate floating layer. Changes you make to one layer
will not alter images on other layers, allowing you to edit images with
more freedom.
