Instructions

Things You'll Need

  • One package standard construction paper
  • Craft marker
  • Craft scissors
  • Pictures or cutouts
  • Craft glue
  • Spiral bookbinding
  • Spiral binding hole puncher
    • 1
Fold a single piece of construction paper in half, the bottom edge of the paper meeting the top edge of the paper with the fold being nearest you.
    • 2
Draw two lines starting from the bottom fold toward the top of the page. Each line should be about two inches in length.
    • 3
Cut the lines using craft scissors. Fold the cut section back, make a crease and return it to its original position.
    • 4
Open the paper up like a tent and push the cut square through the bottom of the paper. Be careful not to tear the paper.
    • 5
Close the paper, reapply pressure to the fold to make a strong crease and open the pop-up.
    • 6
Secure cutouts to the raised pop-up on the construction paper. Allow the glue to dry before you fold the cut out down to make the cutout’s creases.
    • 7
Continue making one layered pop-up page for each cut out you want to include in your spiral pop-up book.
    • 8
Stack the pages in order with the pop-ups closed.
    • 9
Insert each page fold side in to a spiral binding hole puncher to make holes for the spiral binding.
    • 10
Restack the closed pop-up pages in order from beginning to end.
    • 11
Insert the spiral binding by lacing in through the first hole.
    • 12
Your finished product should resemble a notebook.
Continue turning the spiral binding so that it laces the entire binding of the pages.
