Instructions
Things You'll Need
- One package standard construction paper
- Craft marker
- Craft scissors
- Pictures or cutouts
- Craft glue
- Spiral bookbinding
- Spiral binding hole puncher
- 1Fold a single piece of construction paper in half, the bottom edge of the paper meeting the top edge of the paper with the fold being nearest you.
- 2Draw two lines starting from the bottom fold toward the top of the page. Each line should be about two inches in length.
- 3Cut the lines using craft scissors. Fold the cut section back, make a crease and return it to its original position.
- 4Open the paper up like a tent and push the cut square through the bottom of the paper. Be careful not to tear the paper.
- 5Close the paper, reapply pressure to the fold to make a strong crease and open the pop-up.
- 6Secure cutouts to the raised pop-up on the construction paper. Allow the glue to dry before you fold the cut out down to make the cutout’s creases.
- 7Continue making one layered pop-up page for each cut out you want to include in your spiral pop-up book.
- 8Stack the pages in order with the pop-ups closed.
- 9Insert each page fold side in to a spiral binding hole puncher to make holes for the spiral binding.
- 10Restack the closed pop-up pages in order from beginning to end.
- 11Insert the spiral binding by lacing in through the first hole.
