How to Make a Superscript 2 Sign on Excel-Alt

,

Microsoft Excel is the name of a commercial spreadsheets application developed by Microsoft Corporation. This program supports all standard American Standard Code for Information Interchange characters, including ones that are not present on North American keyboards. One such character is the "superscript 2" character, which is used to express exponentiation to the power of two. You can add a superscript 2 character in Microsoft Excel by using your keyboard's ALT key, followed by a specific numerical code.

Instructions

    • 1
Click on the cell into which you wish to insert the special character.
    • 2
Press the ALT key on your keyboard and hold it down.
    • 3
Type "0178" by using the numerical keypad.
    • 4
      Release the ALT key.
