How to Make a Triangle in Corel Draw X4

,
Corel Draw X4 is an illustration program that lets you edit photos and create drawings. While you can create simple shapes in Corel Draw, sometimes you need to hunt around the Toolbox and menus to find the appropriate setting. Take triangles, for example: there are no preset triangle shapes apparent in any of the menus, but you can draw them using two methods: manually with the Smart Drawing Tool or using the Polygon Tool to draw a triangle.

Instructions

  1. Manual Method

    • 1
Click on the Smart Drawing Tool from the Toolbox.
    • 2
Select a sensitivity level for the "Shape Recognition Level" and the "Smart Smoothing Level" drop-down menus. The recognition level setting matches the shape you draw with shapes in its database. The smoothing level will smooth out the lines you draw with the cursor.
    • 3
Position the cursor where you want to draw the triangle.
    • 4
Click and drag the cursor and draw a triangle shape. Corel Draw will automatically clean up the lines and make the sides of the triangle more precise and better connected.

    Polygon Tool

    • 1
Click on the "Polygon Tool" from the Toolbox.
    • 2
Enter "3" on the "Number of Sides" field in the Property Bar.
    • 3
Position the cursor where you want the triangle.
    • 4
Click and hold the mouse button while dragging the cursor. A triangle will appear. The triangle will grow as you drag the mouse. Release the mouse button when the triangle is at the size you want.
