How to View Extruded Objects in AutoCAD

,
When designing a 3D object in AutoCAD, you make three designs, each with their own angle: top view, front view and right-side view. If you want to view a model of your object, you'll need to extrude the design. However, in AutoCAD's regular viewing angle, you can't tell if something has been extruded. In order to view an extruded object, you need to switch to an isometric view that allows you to see 3D objects.

Instructions

    • 1
Launch AutoCAD. Open your project by clicking the "Open" button in the top left corner and selecting your project.
    • 2
      Click "View" then "3-D Viewport."
    • 3
Select one of the isometric options. In general, you'll want to use the "SW Isometric" option as this keeps your X and Y axis correctly oriented. Once in 3D, you'll be able to see your extruded object.
