Even in the age of cool televised commercials and snazzy, cutting-edge
Internet-animated ads, there should still a place in a business's
marketing plan for a simple one page flyer. While commercials and
Internet ads are quickly over and forgotten, a flyer is something that
can be picked up by a potential customer or delivered to her house. They
might then be perused later at her leisure.

Write out on paper the text
content you will want in your flyer. This should include information
about your product or services, as well as your location, contact
information and hours of operation.

Load any images of clip art that you want to use in your flyer onto your computer, saving them all to the same folder.

Start the Microsoft Paint
application. Select “Image” from the menu and click “Attributes.” Set
the width and height in the dialog box to the size you want for your
flyer and click “OK.”

Select the “Paintbucket” from the toolbar and use it to fill the background with the color you want for the flyer.

Select “Edit” from the menu and
choose “Paste From.” In the dialog, go to and open the first image you
want to use. Move the image where you want it in the flyer and drag the
corners to scale it. Repeat this to place all of the image and clip art
in the flyer. Leave room for your text and captions.

Select the “Text” tool from the
toolbar. Drag a text box where your want the title. Choose a large font
size and a color that contrasts well with the background. Type in the
text.

Create other text boxes for your
other text, choosing font sizes that are appropriate in each case. For
example, image caption fonts should be relatively small. Save your work
for printing.
