How to Open a DDA Filethumbnail
DAA files can contain the images of CDs and DVDs.
DAA, which stands for Direct Access Archive, is a file format used by an application called PowerISO. The DAA file format has the capability to store disc images, which makes it similar to the ISO file format. If you want to open a DAA file, you must first mount it onto a PowerISO virtual drive. After mounting the DAA file, you can open it just like you would open a physical CD or DVD.

Instructions

    • 1
Download and install PowerISO. You must restart your computer after installing PowerISO. You will now see a new virtual drive when you open Windows Explorer.
    • 2
Open Windows Explorer by clicking "Start" and "Computer." You will now see a new virtual disc drive listed under the "Devices with Removable Storage" section.
    • 3
Right-click the new virtual disc drive and point to “PowerISO.” Next, select the “Mount Image to Drive” option.
    • 4
Browse to the location of the DAA file. If you cannot see the DAA file, click the “File Type” drop-down menu and select “Direct Access Archive (*.daa).”
    • 5
Select the DAA file and click the “Open” button.
    • 6
Right-click the virtual disc drive again and select “Open” to view the contents inside the DAA file.
