How to Open an MSWMM File

MSWMM is a file format used by Windows Live Movie Maker to store information about the video, audio and timeline of a movie. You can use Windows Live Movie Maker to open any MSWMM file on your hard disk. If your computer does not have Windows Live Movie Maker installed, download it for free from the Windows Live website.

     Download the Windows Live Essentials Setup from explorer.live.com. After downloading, click “Open” to run the Windows Live Essentials Setup. Select the “Photo Gallery and Movie Maker” option and click “Install” to install Windows Live Movie Maker.

     Click the “Start” button, point to “All Programs” and click “Windows Live Movie Maker.”

     Click the button on the left side of the Home tab and select “Open Project.”

     Browse to the location of the MSWMM file, select it and click “Open.”
