How to Open a PDX File

PDX files, also known as Acrobat Catalog Indexes, are created using Adobe Acrobat Standard or Adobe Acrobat Professional. These files allow you to search large amounts of indexed PDF files located within multiple directories. If you have a PDX file on your computer, you can open it using a free application called Adobe Reader.

     Download the Adobe Reader X executable setup file from Adobe.com. Open the executable setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install Adobe Reader X.

     Go to the location of the PDX file.

     Right-click the PDX file.

     Select the “Open With Adobe Reader X” option to open the PDX file.
