How to Open a TRC File

Trace logs are used to detect network problems.

TRC files are trace log files used by many different programs, such as Oracle SQL Suite, Microsoft Visual Studio Alt Trace Tools, Microsoft SQL Server and FCAccess Analyzer. Trace logs are used to measure any network TCP/IP activity, such as sending and receiving events, as well as the time those events take to be completed and the amount of information transmitted. Trace logs help system administrators find network problems with programs, bandwidth usage, applications and network traffic.

     Open the program that the trace was run in, such as SQL Analyzer, SQL Server
     Profiler or Oracle Trace Analyzer.

     Select Open from the File menu.

     Select Trace File. This should open the trace file.
