Wikispaces is a content management and collaboration service used by a number of large corporate and educational intranets. The Wiki pages hosted on the service are fairly basic in both design and function, but they offer easy-to-use editing tools that allow users to change page content through the use of simple dialog boxes. You can change the text color on any Wikispaces page you have permission to edit in a matter of seconds by using the system's page editing function.
Instructions
- 1Log in with your user name and password, then select the Wikispaces page you want to edit. Click on the Wikispace Link to open the page in read-only mode.
- 2Click the "Edit" button, located in the upper right corner of the page, to access the page editing tools.
- 3Highlight the text you want to change by clicking and dragging your cursor across it. Click on the Text Attributes button in the editing toolbar at the top of the page. The Text Attributes button appears as an upper case "T" with a small image of a painter's palette superimposed on it.
- 4Click in the Text Color window on the Color and Style dialog box. Enter the six-character hexadecimal code for the color you want to use. If you don't know the hex code for the color, select the color from the color wheel on the right side of the dialog. Clicking your color on the wheel automatically populates the Text Color window with the correct hex code.
- 5Repeat Step 4 in the Background Color window of the dialog, if you want to change the page color behind the text you selected. Note that this will change the background behind only the text you have currently selected; it does not change the background for the entire page.
- 6Click the Apply Styles button at the bottom of the dialog window to close it. Your color changes are automatically applied to the text you have selected on the page.
- 7Click the "Save" button on the editing toolbar to publish the changes to your Wikispace.
