Newer versions of Windows lack the folder background feature found in Windows XP and earlier versions of Windows. You can use a third-party utility, such as the Windows 7 Folder Background Changer application, to set background images for your folders. Windows 7 Folder Background changer can set GIF, JPG or PNG image files as folder backgrounds. You’ll see the image file as your folder’s background in Windows Explorer. You can also set a custom color for the file names inside the folder, so you can read them even if you have a dark background image.
