Windows 7 can insert your image files on a WordPad document for visual interest. A blurry image can appear sharper with the help of photo editing software, such as Photoshop Elements 10. Copy the blurry image from the WordPad document and insert in a Photoshop workspace to modify it. The sharpened, enhanced image can then replace the old image in WordPad.
Open the WordPad Document
- Open the WordPad document and right-click the blurry image in the WordPad document. Choose “Copy” from the drop-down menu.
Paste to Photoshop Elements Workspace
- Open the Photoshop Elements 10 program and click the “Edit” button on the homepage to display a blank workspace. Click the “File” tab on the Photoshop Elements menu bar to display a list of commands. Point over “New” to display a short list. Click “Image from Clipboard.” The WordPad image will then copy to the Photoshop Elements workspace.
Sharpening the Image
- Click “Enhance” on the Photoshop Elements menu bar to show a list of commands. Click the “Adjust Sharpness” option to open the “Adjust Sharpness dialog box. You will see an enlarged section of your image in the preview box. Click and drag the slider button in the “Amount” and “Radius” sliding scales. You can also type a value in the “%” box and the “pixels” box. Preview the effects. Click to check the check box for the “More refined” section, if desired. Click “OK” to convert the image.
Save the Sharpened Image
- Click the “File” tab on the Photoshop Elements menu bar to display a list of commands. Click the “Save As” option to open the “Save As” dialog box. Click to add a check mark for “As a Copy” in the “Save” category near the bottom of the dialog box. Click to select a file location, such as the “Desktop” to find this sharpened file. Click “Save.” The “JPEG Options” dialog box opens. Click the preferred “Image Options” before clicking “OK.” You can close the Photoshop Elements program.
Replace the Image in WordPad
- Right-click the old image in the WordPad document to display a list of commands. Click the “Change Picture” option from the list. The “Select Picture” dialog box opens. Locate and double-click the saved, sharpened file to open. The recently enhanced image will replace the old, blurred image in the WordPad document.
