Artix Entertainment developed "AdventureQuest Worlds," a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, or MMORPG, with a method for entering special codes that you can use to obtain different items not offered in the game. Two special codes were released since the game's debut in 2008: the Badger Helm, which is a piece of armor, and the Skullwraith, which is a sword.
Origin
- The two promotional codes were included in two MMORPG magazines: "Thirteen1" and "Beckett Massive Online Gamer." Game developers team up with magazines to create promotional codes as a way to promote the magazines and the game.
Entering Codes
- Go to the town square of Battleton and click on the exclamation point that appears over your character's head to see a list of options appear on the screen. In the lower left corner of the list is "Special Codes." After clicking "Special Codes," a text box labeled "Code" appears on the screen, which is where you enter the special codes.
Badger Helm Code
- Among the items you can use to equip your character in "AdventureQuest Worlds" are helms, armor worn over the head to decrease the amount of damage your character receives when attacked. The code included in "Thirteen1" is for the Badger Helm, a helm shaped to look like a badger. To receive the Badger Helm, enter "Thirteen1" in the "Code" text box. A popup window appears, prompting you to save the armor or discard it. You can equip the Badger Helm once saved. Unlike other items in "AdventureQuest Worlds," you won't receive any gold for trying to sell the Badger Helm.
Beckett's Shop Code
- "The Beckett Massive Online Player" special code opens a secret shop. Unlike other shops in "AdventureQuest Worlds," the secret shop only has one item: Skullwraith, a sword that costs 10 gold. Enter the special code "Oicu812" into the "Code" text box to open the secret shop. The Shop popup window appears on the screen. You can later sell Skullwraith for three gold.
