Autodesk Maya is a paid application that allows users to create and
sculpt 3-D models. An important step when creating professional-looking
3-D models is to add realistic shadows. Most 3-D modeling tools call
this effect "ambient occlusion," but in Autodesk Maya, it is called
"shadow pass." You can add a shadow pass effect to a 3-D model in
Autodesk Maya by adding a new layer to your project and editing its
attributes.
