How to Fix a .Thm File in a Mac

A .Thm file extension indicates a thumbnail file that is used to show a preview of a photo, document or program. If the .Thm preview file is missing or corrupt on your Mac computer, you can fix it using photo editing software. Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard in photo editing and is capable of fixing a .Thm file that is missing or corrupt.




Instructions

      Double-click the Mac hard drive icon on your desktop.

      Double-click “Applications.”

      Double-click “Adobe Photoshop.”
    • 4
      Click “File” from the top left of the Adobe Photoshop application and click “Open.” Click the .Thm file of choice and click “Open.”

      Click “Image, and then select “Image Size” from the drop-down menu. The Image Size window appears. Check and modify if necessary that the dimensions of the thumbnail are a width of 160px, height of 120px and resolution of 72px.

      Click “File,” and then “Save for Web.” The Save for Web dialog box appears.

      Select “JPEG” as the file type and “100” for the quality. Select a location to save the thumbnail image locally on your computer.

      Click “Save.”

      Click the file name of the thumbnail image from your desktop. A cursor appears within the filename allowing you to change it.

      Add the extension of .thm to the filename.
