From the first moments a
wedding couple awakens on their special day to the last vestiges of
their taillights as they drive away for their honeymoon, almost every
aspect of their nuptials is captured on film. One of the most iconic
moments, featuring that “Just Married” sign, can be enhanced when you
make a custom sign featuring the couples’ names. The sign and images of
it can become keepsakes and there will be no Bridezilla moments when you
use Microsoft Windows Paint to complete the sign. Take advantage of
Paint’s wedding color-coordination options to make a “Just Married” sign
ready for its closeup.

- Windows Paint

1
Start Windows Paint. Click the drop-down arrow in the top, left corner of the screen. Click “Properties.”
-
2
Type dimensions for the sign into the “Width” and “Height” boxes. For traditional printers, most signs must be the standard 11 inches by 8.5 inches a printer can handle. Enter these, or your preferred dimensions, and click the “Inches” radio button under “Units.” Click the “OK” button to resize the Paint canvas.
-
3
Choose a color, such as one that matches the flowers or bridesmaid dresses, from the “Colors” section of the ribbon.
-
4
Click the “A” icon on the “Tools” section of the ribbon. Click the middle of the sign, choose a font, such as Brush Script or Forte, and a large font size.
-
5
Type “Just Married!” and drag the text box so it is centered on the sign.
-
6
Choose one of the other wedding theme colors or stick with the current color. Click above the “Just Married!” text box. Reduce the font size. Type the wedding couple’s first names, such as “Ed + Davida.”
-
7
Click below the sign. Type the wedding date, such as “9/30/11.”
-
8
Click the red or pink square in the “Colors” section and note this square appears in the “Color 1” box. Click the “Color 2” button and click the same square again, so now the red or pink shows in both boxes.
-
9
Click the heart shape in the “Shapes” section of the ribbon. Position the cursor on an empty space on the sign, such as the corner, click and drag to form a heart. Continue to draw hearts in a range of sizes all around the border of the sign.
