Spray painting graffiti to
express yourself is one way to tap into your creativity, but it is also a
risky endeavor, with possible fines or punishment, as well as a long
cleanup process if you want to remove your work. Instead, get the same
tagging-look by designing a graffiti poster to go on the wall. When you
use Windows Paint, a graphics program included with Windows operating
systems, to create a graffiti poster, you can take advantage of built-in
airbrush tools and enjoy paint colors not available in real airbrush
cans.
Instructions
Things You'll Need
- Windows Paint
-
-
1
Launch Paint. Click the drop-down arrow in the top-left corner of the workspace and select “Properties.” Type your wall space dimensions into the “Width” and “Height” boxes, such as “24” and “36” respectively. Click the “Inches” radio button, which may already be selected by default. Click the “OK” button.
-
2
Click one of the colored squares in the “Colors” section of the ribbon, such as a neon paint. To choose a color not represented, click the “Edit colors” button and select from the color rainbow.
-
3
Click the “Brushes” button’s drop-down arrow. Select “Airbrush.”
-
4
Click the “Size” button and select the bottom or thickest line.
-
5
Position the cursor on the canvas. Click and hold down the left mouse button, then drag the cursor around to form the start of the graffiti. The thickest line option gives you the widest spray with the most speckles, but there is more space between the speckles than a thinner line.
-
6
Switch to the top, thinnest line on the “Size” button’s menu. Choose a new graffiti color or stick with the same one. Click and drag on the canvas and note the difference between the two lines. The thinner line gives you more concentrated graffiti, with less speckles and thinner spray jets.
-
7
Experiment with the different line options as well as paint colors to add to your design, such as spray painting your initials with the thinnest size in black, then filling in the letter bubbles with a thicker size in a bright color.
-
8
Complete the poster design as desired. Click the drop-down arrow again in the top-left corner and select “Save As.” Enter a name for the graffiti poster file and click “Save.”
