Beaded keychains can be a quick craft that only requires a few
materials. Beaded keychains can also be a good craft for middle school
aged children, because no cutting or hot tools are required. Younger
children can enjoy beading keychains too, but may require some
supervision to complete the shape correctly. A beaded peace sign is a
relatively simple shape, and requires only a few steps
Instructions
- 42 Beads
- Lanyard hook or key-ring
- 2 yards of 1/4" cord or craft thread
-
-
1
Fold your cord or thread in
half. Pinch the loop at the top and thread it through the center of the
hook or keyring. Feed the two loose ends through the center of the loop,
then pull them tight to secure the thread to the hook or key-ring.
-
2
String 28 beads on the right
hand piece of thread (thread one). Bring the end of the beads to the
hook or key-ring to form a circle. Feed the left hand piece of thread
(thread two) through the first 17 beads on the left hand side.
-
3
String eight more beads onto
thread one, then sit these beads down the center of the circle to form
the longest pole in the peace sign. Wrap the thread one around the
thread at the bottom center of the circle, then tie it off.
-
4
Feed three beads onto thread two, then wrap thread two around the thread in the peace sign pole midway up the pole.
-
5
String three more beads onto
tread two, and feed thread two back through the outer circle of the
peace sign four beads from the center, moving towards the middle pole.
-
6
Tie off thread two at the bottom center of outer circle. Trim any excess from the knots.
