Illustrator is a vector graphics and image editing application developed by Adobe Systems. The program features a wide variety of tools, effects and filters for creating professional graphics and works of art. Textures help to add realism and depth to images in Illustrator. Creating a realistic texture from scratch requires an extensive amount of artistic talent. The Live Trace tool, however, is a tool within Illustrator that makes it possible for users to quickly and easily create custom textures from existing images.
