After a special trip, there are often items that hold sentimental value -- plane tickets, maps and especially photographs. Before tossing these items in a storage box, consider displaying them on a collage. You can even give your collage a vintage look by using old photographs or retouching new photographs, aging the paper in the collage and photocopying memorabilia. The project is simple and a way to display the memories from your trip in one place, all while creating your own work of art.

Instructions

Things You'll Need

  • Polaroid photos
  • Old maps
  • Plane tickets
  • Hotel business cards
  • Other paper memorabilia
  • Scrapbook glue
  • Scissors
  • 8-inch-by-10-inch piece of paper
  • Tea bag
  • Water
  • Photo frame with no matting (8-inch-by-10-inch or larger)
    • 1
Wipe a wet tea bag over a piece of 8-inch-by-10-inch paper. Let the paper fully dry. This will give the paper a vintage look.
    • 2
Use scrapbook glue to glue the paper onto the backing of the photo frame to create a poster.
    • 3
Decorate the paper with memorabilia from your travels, using scrapbook glue to attach. Use items such as Polaroid photographs, plane tickets, hotel business cards, old maps and other memorabilia. Photocopy items such as business cards and plane tickets for an antique look. Glue the items on in an organized fashion or overlap the items for a messier look.
    • 4
Let the glue dry and then place the collage into the frame and hang.
