How to Smooth a Crease in Maya

The Maya animation program features polygon mesh modeling, fluid effects for animating water, advanced shading tools and physics simulators. Animators utilized Maya software to create blockbuster films like Avatar. It is one of the most popular professional animation programs used. The application also includes a built-in smoothing tool, which can be used eliminate creases in objects.


Instructions

    • 1
      Open the Maya animation program on your computer. Select "File" and then choose "Open Project." Choose the project you wish to use.

      Click the object you wish to smooth. The entire object appears with green highlights.

      Click the "Mesh" menu in the upper-left corner of the menu. Click the "Smooth" option. Move the "Continuity" slider to the "1.00" level. This ensures the surface of the object is perfectly smooth. Click the "OK" button. Notice that all creases and blemishes on the object have been smoothed over.
