Alerton VLC is a part of the BACtalk product line. It complies with ANSI/ASHRAE standards and is capable of acting as a standalone controller for machinery. It uses Alerton's BACtalk Microset or Microset II, which are wall sensor units with data displays and adjustable set-points.
Alerton VLC
- Alerton VLC is a fully programmable logic controller. It has a versatile output configuration that can be used to control up to four terminal units of a production line from one controller. These units include water source heat pumps and other devices that have multiple control points.
Function Library
- The control logic uses VisualLogic graphical programming software that has a self-documenting function library. The function library allows a user to enter flexible control strategies into the VLC, which are used to monitor machinery and keep the work environment safe.
Intrisic Functions
- VisualLogic, the Alerton VLC software, uses intrinsic functions to program algorithms. Functions of VisualLogic include executable flowcharts, loop programming, conditions setting, procedures, parameters such as "ByVal" and "ByRef," debugging, enhance Input/Output text files, arrays and graphics. Flowcharts for VLC data or code that are made with the VisualLogic functions can be saved and embedded into a Microsoft Word or PowerPoint document and printed.
Programming
- By pressing "F8" on the VLC controller, you can "step" into programs and procedures of the VLC and add Input and Output text elements to the programming. Input files can be created on Notepad or a text editor and then copied and pasted into the VisualLogic program. Each line in the text file reads as one entry of code and requires that quotes be placed around a string of input, similar to a console or dialog input. When entering relatable references into the program, the file needs to be in the folder that contains the VisualLogic.exe file.
