Generally, you will only find slight variations in the selection tools
of most image-editing utilities. Tools like Freehand Select and
Rectangular Select allow you to choose polygonal areas of your images,
or select objects by tracing them. However, GIMP's rotation tool is one
feature that helps the image editor stand out from others. If you want
to exact the rotation of your selections by hand -- as opposed to
rotating in increments -- you need to learn about GIMP's Rotate tool.
