The 3D Transform file can be copied to an Adobe Photoshop folder.
The 3D Transform render filter was a standard filter with versions of Adobe Photoshop until Photoshop CS (Creative Suite). However, the filter file may still be located on the installation CD that came with the program. This file is then copied to a location within the "Adobe Photoshop" folder where the program originally installed.







Adobe Photoshop Filters

  • Filters apply special visual effects to images and graphics in Adobe Photoshop CS5. The Filte" menu in the program includes artistic filters, blur filters, distort filters, sharpen filters and texture filters, among others. Some filters can apply artistic effects such as colored pencil, cutout, dry brush and film grain. In addition to the filters that are part of the program when it is installed, more filters can be found online.

3D Transform Filter

  • The 3D Transform filter for Adobe Photoshop is classified as a "render" filter. To render an image is to generate a second image from an original model. The 3D Transform filter renders an image into a three-dimensional version. The 3D Transform filter was a standard filter included in all versions of Adobe Photoshop until Photoshop CS. If the buyer purchased Photoshop CS as a download, then the 3D Transform filter is not included. If the version of Adobe Photoshop was upgraded, then the previous filter file may be found and copied.

Adobe Photoshop Folders

  • When Adobe Photoshop is installed on a computer, it is installed to the "Program Files" folder and are all part of the Adobe folder and Adobe Photoshop CS subfolder. All of the filter files located and used for the program are stored within the Filters folder. So, a file may be part of Adobe Photoshop CS but not appear as part of the program. Before locating the 3D Transform filter, close Photoshop and all other programs.

Install 3D Filter

  • The 3D Transform Filter is available on the Photoshop installation CD. Insert the CD into the CD tray of the computer. Click "Start" and click "Computer." Click the CD icon to open its contents. Click the "Goodies" folder and click the "Photoshop CS" folder. Click the "Optional Plug-Ins" folder and click the "Filters" folder to open. Locate the "3D Transform.8BF" file. Highlight it and right-click. Select "Copy" from the drop-down menu. Click "Start" and click "Computer." Click the "C:" drive and click the "Program Files" folder to open. Click "Adobe" and "Adobe Photoshop CS." Click "Plug-Ins" and the "Filters" folder. Position the mouse cursor in the "Filters" folder, right-click and select "Paste" from the drop-down menu. The "3D Transform.8BF" file copies to the folder. Open Photoshop. Click "Filter" and click "Render" to find the 3D Transform file.
