With Adobe Photoshop, you can display text on images by adding a text layer to the photo, graphic or illustration. Once you have entered the text onto the text layer, called a “type layer” in Photoshop, you indent the text paragraphs using the tools in the application's “Paragraphs” panel.
Instructions
- 1Launch Adobe Photoshop. Open the image file that contains the text you want to indent.
- 2Click on the horizontal type tool, represented by the “T” icon, or the vertical type tool, represented by the “T down-arrow” icon. Both icons can be found in the Tools panel.
- 3Click and select the layer that contains the text in the Layers panel.
- 4Click on the text in the image. If you want to edit the text, highlight and select the text you want to modify or replace. Edit the selected text or type new text to replace the highlighted region. Click the “Commit” button with a checkmark icon in the Options bar to save the changes.
- 5Click and select the text layer in the Layers panel if you want to indent all text paragraphs. To indent individual paragraphs, highlight and select the text paragraphs on the image.
- 6Click and select your preferred indent option in the Paragraph panel. For horizontal text, selecting the “Indent Left Margin” option indents the text from the left edge of the highlighted paragraph. Choosing the “Indent Right Margin” option indents the text from the right edge of the highlighted paragraph. Selecting “Indent First Line” indents just the first line of the paragraph from the left. For vertical text, the left option indents the text from the top of the paragraph, while the right option indents the text from the bottom; the “First Line” option indents the first line from the top of the paragraph.
- 7Click “File” and select “Save” from the context menu to save the edited image with the indented text.
