How to Open a .MDR File

,
Files saved with the file extension MDR are modem report files used by FaxTalk software programs, especially with FaxTalk Modem Doctor, an included troubleshooting tool inside the program. MDR files contain information which is sent to FaxTalk’s technical support team, and contains information about any issues or problems you may encounter when using the software. The files rarely contain any data which is useful to you as a user, but you can open the files if you are curious to see descriptions of information transmitted by your FaxTalk software.

Instructions

    • 1
Open your FaxTalk software and click the file menu.
    • 2
Click “Open,” and then navigate to your MDR file. The file’s location depends on your specific operating system. For example, in Windows Vista or Windows 7, MCR files will be stored on your hard drive, in the “C:\ProgramData\Thought Communications\FaxTalk” folder.
    • 3
Double click the MCR file or click once then click “OK” to open the file.
