When you're hard at play, you need every advantage on the soccer field to give your team the edge. Changing the color of your cleats to customize your uniform can give you some flair and help you get the attention you need to cheer your team on. You can add pizazz to your shoes in numerous ways.
Instructions
- 1Add your team number to your cleats -- the same number as the one you wear on your shirt. Paint it on or use a marker to apply it to your shoes. Or get a stencil and cut out your number from a piece of waterproof fabric and glue it on with waterproof glue.
- 2Paint your special symbol or logo on your cleats. You can put this on the side or at the end of the tongue. Remove the company logo first.
- 3Put a new slide plate in the side of the shoes to change the color. There's usually a slit along the edge of the existing plate, and you can remove the existing plate and slide in your new one. Many brands of athletic shoes sell the colored slides with the shoes.
- 4Choose a pair of colored laces to add to the new look for your cleats. Make sure they're long enough to stay tied.
- 5Paint your cleats a color that complements your uniform and makes you feel good. Use either latex or fabric paint and then put a coat of water-resistant glaze or shellac on them to preserve the color.
- 6Customize your cleats when you buy them. Many shoe companies like Nike and Adidas offer customizable options for shoe color and design at the time of purchase.
