How to Design Your Own Bodyboard

A bodyboard allows you to lay down and ride the waves.

Bodyboards are similar to surfboards, except they are much smaller and are made to help you ride the waves in a horizontal position rather than standing up. If you have a bodyboard, and wish to show off your personality and style, there are many ways to customize your board so you can make your mark among all of the other bodyboarders on the ocean. Take your time, and you can create an intricate design on your board that is unlike anything available in stores.

     Choose the design you would like to have on your bodyboard. Draw a few of your ideas to help you pick your favorite.

     Outline your design on your bodyboard using masking tape or stencils.

     Make stripes and large designs using masking tape. Tape stencils to the board in areas where you would like to have smaller shapes and more intricate designs.

     Spray your bodyboard using your chosen colors of spray paint. Coat the board evenly.

     Allow the board to dry.

     Remove the masking tape and stencils.
   • 7
     Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for additional designs and colors you would like to have on your board.

     Allow the spray paint to dry for at least 24 hours.

     Brush clear paint sealer over the entire board using a large paintbrush.

     Allow the board to dry completely before using it. This may take several days.
