You can change a Samsung Touch of Color HDTV, which use Auto Motion Plus, to upscale a 60 Hz signal to 120 Hz. Upscaling is the process in which the TV uses a processor to add frames in between every frame of a 60 Hz or slower broadcast to produce a smooth, clear picture running at 120 Hz. Increasing the refresh rate for TV and movies helps to eliminate blur and shaky motion.
Instructions
- 1Power on your Samsung Touch of Color HDTV. Press "Menu" on the remote control. Use the arrow buttons to select items from the on-screen display.
- 2Select "Picture" and press "Enter."
- 3Select "Picture Options" and press "Enter."
- 4Select "Auto Motion Plus 120Hz" and press "Enter."
- 5Select one of the options from the list that pops up and press "Enter." "Off" disables the 120 Hz upscaling, "Low" uses it minimally, "Medium" applies the effect about half of the time, "High" increases the effect to the maximum amount. The higher the setting, the more the TV will add frames to reduce blur and increase clarity. "Demo" will show you a side-by-side comparison of the 60 Hz and 120 Hz effect on your Touch of Color TV.
