A cleverly placed animated GIF can add an unexpected sparkle to a presentation. Animated GIFs are small movies that consist of a sequence of images. These GIFs are simple to make if you have a program that can automate the process. ImagePoint, a graphics program, allows you to add multiple images to a project. Although ImagePoint is an old program written in 2003, you can still use it to combine your images into a professional-looking animated GIF.
Instructions
- 1Open Windows Explorer and copy the images you wish to use in your animated GIF into a new folder.
- 2Launch InsightPoint. A New Project window opens and displays a "Page Width" text box and a "Page Height" text box. Type the desired width and height of your animated GIF into those boxes and click "OK." The program's canvas appears.
- 3Click "File," then click "Import Folder of Files" to display the "Open Folder" pop-up window. This window displays the folders located on your hard drive. Find the folder containing your image and double-click that folder. Click "Open." InsightPoint adds thumbnail images of the GIFs to the Layers panel located on the right side of the user interface.
- 4Find the "Up" and "Down" arrows at the top of that panel. Those arrows allow you to reorder the thumbnails. To move a thumbnail to a different position in the sequence, click the thumbnail and one of the arrows. Reorder other thumbnails if necessary until they appear in the animated GIF in the order that you prefer.
- 5Click "File" to display a menu. Click the "Deploy Slideshow" menu option. Then click "Animated GIF Show." The "Configure Animated GIF Frames" dialogue window opens. It contains a list of your thumbnail images.
- 6Find the "Page Duration" text box. It contains a default value of "0.2." This value, measured in seconds, controls the length of time that each image in the animated GIF appears on screen. Type the value of your choice into this text box. For instance, if you want each image to appear for four seconds, type 4 in the box.
- 7Click "OK." Then type a name for your animated GIF in the "File Name" text box. Click "Save" to save your new animated GIF.
