How to Create Wireframe Effects When Rendering in Modo

,

By default, Modo does not come with an option to create the well-known and widely used wireframe effect when rendering the model. This is a major drawback; however, there's a script that can render your model in wireframe, and even control the thickness and color of the lines.

Instructions

    • 1
Launch a Web browser and navigate to Modonize to download the mm_WFRender script (see Resources).
    • 2
Click the "mm_WFRender" link and save the ZIP archive on your hard disk.
    • 3
Right-click the ZIP archive and select "Extract to mm_WFRender" to extract its contents in a new folder named "mm_WFRender."
    • 4
Select the "mm_WFRender" folder and press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys at the same time to copy it to the clipboard.
    • 5
Launch Modo, expand the "System" menu and click "Open User Scripts Folder" to open the scripts folder.
    • 6
Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys at the same time to paste the "mm_WFRender" folder from the clipboard.
    • 7
Restart Modo, then open or create a model.
    • 8
Expand the "Render" menu and click "Set up wireframe render" to create the wireframe effect.
    • 9
Set the Contour Line Thickness and Color in the Final Render Output section, and click "Render" when you are satisfied with the result.
