"CS," or "Counter-strike," is an interactive online and single-player game that also lets you create your own maps using the Hammer software. You can host these maps on a Blogspot blog for other users to download and use on private servers. The maps are compiled and stored as a BSP file.
Instructions
- 1Open the Hammer software on your desktop. Click the "File" menu item and select "New" to create a new CS template map file.
- 2Drag and drop the shapes, images and textures from the left toolbar to the center detail panel. The Hammer designer draws the images and textures, so you can see the end-result of your map. Use the mouse to move the shapes and objects around the map to place them in the location you want them to display during gameplay.
- 3Place a spawn location using the Entity tool. Type "info_player_counterterrorist" in the Entity tool to indicate that you want people to spawn in the boxed location after they die.
- 4Press the "F9" key to compile the map. Type a name for the map and select "Normal" for the difficulty level. Click "OK" to compile and create the BSP file.
- 5Upload the file to your Blogspot blog. Open the post in which you want to set up a link to the new file. Type text for the anchor text, such as "Download this CS Map." Highlight the text and click the "Hyperlink" icon in the editor. Select the location of your CS map and click "OK." Click "Update" to save the post changes.
