EFS is an encrypted file type associated with the Encryption File System of the Microsoft Windows operating system. EFS files are created to preserve the security of private data against malicious attacks on your computer. Each EFS file automatically creates an encryption certificate and key. To open an EFS file, use the built-in encryption tool of Windows along with the private key.

- 4Clear the checkbox next to Encrypt contents to secure data.
