Very few people like to show off a double chin, but the camera always seems to find a way to capture it on film. Photoshop is often used as a retouching program to change the appearance of subjects in photographs. You can eliminate a double chin or slim the line of a wider chin with most modern versions of Photoshop for perfect images that show you off just the way you like.
Instructions
- 1Open the picture in Photoshop and save it as another document. This lets you work on the duplicated document while still maintaining a copy of the original picture.
- 2Select the "Liquefy" filter and zoom in on the chin area. Choose a medium brush size from the box that appears on the right. This lets you cover a significant amount of the area in a short amount of time. Choose a brush density of between 30 and 35 and a brush pressure of between 35 and 40.
- 3Move the cursor over top of the chin area. Begin at the most prominent section of the double chin, hold the mouse down and move the cursor upward about 1/4-inch. Move along the chin in small wave-like movements. As you move the cursor, the double chin is removed and the skin appears smoother, without the line dividing the chin.
- 4Continue along the chin toward the neckline for an even, natural-looking refinement. Move in smaller waves as you go for a smooth chin line.
- 5Zoom out to review your work. If the chin appears unnatural, zoom in again and continue with the liquefying tool to refine the chin.
- 6Select another layer. Select the “healing” brush tool from the selection of tools on the left. Choose the “Sampled” option from the “Source” box. Click and press down on the “Alt” key on the skin just above the chin to choose a color. Click and drag the cursor all along the new bottom edge of the chin line to eliminate any blurred skin along this line.
- 7Save the completed picture.
