How to Open a GBI Filethumbnail
Yes, you can open and view a GBI file's contents.
A GBI file contains an exact copy of all files on a single CD or DVD disc -- a backup of the files. The file format offers compression, password protection, data encryption and built-in checks that confirm the data within the GBI file is error free. You can open a GBI using its native application, gBurner, and a variety of other CD/DVD creation programs. You can also save GBI files in another format or copy the files' contents to your computer, if desired.






Instructions

  1. Using gBurner

    • 1
      Navigate your computer’s Internet browser to the “gBurner” link (gburner.com/download.htm) and click the “Download Site 1” or “Download Site 2” link. Click “Save,” “Save All” or “Save As” when the “Opening “gburner30.exe” dialog box appears.

      Navigate to the directory containing the “gburner30.exe” file and double click the file’s name to open the file. Click the “Install“ button to start the installation process. Click “Next” when prompted. Click “Close” to launch the program.

      Click the “Continue unregistered” button to access the program immediately or click the “Order online” button to register and purchase the program.

      Click “File” and Open.” Navigate to the directory containing the GBI file you want to open. Double click the file’s name to open it.

      Click “File” and “Save As” to save the GBI file in a different format, if desired. Enter a new name in the box next to “File name:” and click the “Save” button to save the converted file.

    Using MagicISO

      Navigate your Internet browser to the “Magic ISO Maker” link (magiciso.com/download.htmand) and click the “Download Site 1” or “Download Site 2” link. Click “Save,” “Save All” or “Save As” when the “Opening MagicISO.exe” dialog box appears.

      Navigate to the directory containing the “MagicISO.exe” file and double click the file’s name to open the file. Click the “Next“ button to start the installation process. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the program‘s installation. Click “Finish“ when prompted.

      Click “Start,” “All Programs” and click on the “MagicISO” folder. Click “MagicISO” to launch the program. Click the “Try It” button to access the program immediately or click the “Buy Now” button to purchase the program.

      Click “File” and Open.” Navigate to the directory containing the GBI file you want to open. Double click the file’s name to open it. Click “File” and “Save As” to save the GBI file in a different format, if desired.

      Navigate your Internet browser to the “AnyToISO” link (crystalidea.com/anytoiso) and click the "AnyToISO for Windows" or "AnyToISO for Mac OS X" link. Click “Save,” “Save All” or “Save As” when the “Opening Anytoiso.exe” dialog box appears.

      Navigate to the directory containing the “Anytoiso.exe” file and double click the file’s name to open the file. Click the “Next“ button to start the installation process. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the program‘s installation. Click “Finish“ when prompted to launch the program.

      Click the “Open Image” button next to “Source image file:.” Click the down arrow next to “All Supported Files” and click “gBurner CD/DVD Image.”

      Navigate to the directory containing the GBI file you want to open. Double click the file’s name to open it.

      Click the circle next to “Extract to folder:” and then click the “Select folder” button to move the GBI file’s contents to a folder on your computer, if desired. Navigate to the directory you want the file’s contains in and double click the folder’s name to select it.
