How to Open an NCA File

Files that end with the file extension .nca are associated with the software that comes with your Nikon camera, especially the Capture series. NCA files contain information about the color balance settings for an image, and can be opened with Nikon Capture software. If you need to download a new copy of any Nikon software originally included with your camera, Nikon maintains current and supported versions of its camera line’s software in the support section of its corporate website.

     Double-click the NCA file on your desktop, hard drive or removable memory device.

     Click “Nikon Capture” in the dialog box that appears. This appears the first time you open an NCA file; the dialog box allows you to set the Nikon software as the default software to handle NCA files.

     Click “Yes” to associate the file. It should automatically open within the Nikon software.
