Files that are created with the Adobe Illustrator vector artwork application are saved with the .AI file extension. These .AI files can store metadata, such as the file's author, title and description. This metadata lets other users learn about the file and its author, so it must be accurate if it is to be informative. If you want to fix the metadata associated with your .AI file, you can do so through Illustrator's "File Info" menu option.
Instructions
- 1Double-click the .AI file whose metadata you wish to fix to open the file in the Adobe Illustrator application.
- 2Click the "File" menu and select the "File Info" option to open the File Info window. Click the "Description" option in the left navigation pane to view the file's metadata.
- 3Fix any errors associated with the file's metadata, and add any additional metadata in the space provided. When you are finished, click the "OK" button to save the changes.
